The process of discovery is not complete until results can be shared with others.
The W. M. Keck Observatory offers many programs and services to help families, educators, students, residents and hobbyists in North and West Hawaii increase their enjoyment of science and research in society. Each year, the Observatory sponsors more than two dozen events which reach more than 50,000 people.
The Observatory's student employment, internship and mentorship programs build career pathways for the next generation of scientists and engineers. Staff volunteers also donate their time to Hawai`i Island projects including Big Island R.O.V. Underwater Competition, BotBall, Hawaii Electric Car Competition, and much more.
Field trips, stargazing programs, family science nights, classroom visits and science fairs help inspire more than 1,000 students in grades K-12 each year. A dedicated crew of W. M. Keck Observatory staff members have been trained to customize activites that are science-rich and fun! These activities have been tested in real-world classrooms to help communicate science to students of all ages and backgrounds.
Help us work with you to celebrate the power of learning year-round.
