Tuesday October 19, 2021
05:00 pm - 06:00 pm

GUEST SPEAKER: Christine Moran, Deputy Manager, NASA Exoplanet Exploration Program, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory

VIRTUAL ASTRONOMY TALK: Exploring is fundamental to being human, one of the cornerstones of why we do science, and why Dr. Moran has taken her personal career journey. What was it like living at the South Pole for almost a year? How do you prepare for an astronaut candidate interview? How do we see the echoes of the Big Bang from Earth? How might we discover life on Mars and among the stars? In this talk, Dr. Moran will give an overview of her scientific explorations on Earth, on Mars, and of worlds outside our solar system, putting her scientific work in the context of the search for another Earth.
