Devin Chu is a postdoctoral researcher with the University of California at Los Angeles Galactic Center Group, working under the supervision of Nobel laureate Andrea Ghez. Devin grew up in Hilo and became interested in astronomy at a young age. He will share his path to becoming an astronomer and the support he received along the way. Devin will also discuss his interest in looking for binary star systems around the supermassive black hole of the Milky Way galaxy. Finally, Devin will describe how W. M. Keck Observatory will play a leading role in answering the biggest questions about the physics and environment around our galaxy’s supermassive black hole.
The staff and management of the W. M. Keck Observatory wish to offer our deepest gratitude to our Astronomy Talk Series sponsors, Rob and Terry Ryan.
